I'm confused about the relationship between different global trading sessions and when I should actually be active. Does it matter whether I'm trading during Asian, European, or American session hours?

Session timing matters considerably more in forex than most beginners realize. Volatility and liquidity vary dramatically across sessions. The London session typically produces the most consistent trending moves for major pairs involving European currencies. The New York session overlap with London, roughly four hours, generates the highest volume and sharpest price action of the trading day. Asian session hours tend toward range-bound behavior with lower volatility for most major pairs. Matching your strategy type to appropriate session characteristics significantly improves its effectiveness.

Traded randomly across all hours initially because I assumed currency markets were equally active around the clock. Results were inconsistent and frustrating until I mapped my win rates by session and discovered I was losing most consistently during low-liquidity Asian hours while performing much better during European and New York overlap. Restructured my trading schedule entirely around optimal session hours and the improvement was noticeable within weeks: https://invest-agency.info/en/investing-in-forex/3k-investment/
