1998 v70 tdi key fob not working.

just joined so hello everybody. just bought my first volvo, its a very nice 1998 v70 tdi. It came with a remote but with no battery, fitted a new battery but when i tried to use it on my motor nothing happens. Is this a throw away job or can it still be used. any help will be very helpful.

It probably needs a new battery, you can pick one up from a jewellers, they are the same one's as in watches.

If it's not responding to using the key in the lock either, I would say its a problem with the mechanism. When you use the fob is there any noise from the lock, or with the button on the drivers door? If there is a noise i would say that something has come adrift in the lock mechanism. Keep us posted.
