I am sorry to keep running with this question but is there a way to Disable the daytime running lights on a v40 1998 without cutting a wire. I have read all the Threads but no-one with a 1998 model has replyed if it works or not. I have tried all the ways but I might be doing so simple wrong that could be why its not working. Sorry again if I am wasting people's time but I could do with someone with a 1998 V40 / S40 who has found a way to turn them off without cutting wires. I know about the rights and wrongs of turning daytime running lights off but I have the right to turn them off (if possible) if I want to and I would like to for the time been. Thanks for your time. I look forward to reading your replys :)

There's umpteen thread running all with the same title, a quick search would turn them up. I think the upshot is that you can't turn them off without cutting something.
Here we go again, this old chestnut. Do as Taff says and try a search. No would be the likely answer. If you didn't want DRL's why buy a Volvo? You can always turn the switch to sidelights only when you are driving . Chris

I think i remember reading that 1 way to do it is to ask volvo for a later type headlight switch and these can be wired in so that the first position is off.Hope this helps Gareth
