hood latch

My daughter came home from the oil change place where the attendant somehow lost or vaporized the latch that pops thru the grille to facilitate the opening of the hood (bonnet). He then proceeded to tie a short piece of red electric wire to the latch and assured my little girl that it would work until it could be properly repaired. She took his word for that and GUESS WHAT? it doesn't bloody work. QUESTION-how do I get it open now???????????????????????????????? The manual I have has all the fixes starting with an open hood (bonnet)

I'd take it straight back to the oil change place and get them to do/arrange a proper repair, or get them to agree in writing to cover the cost of a competent garage fixing it for you.

you will need to use a strong piece of wire with a hook on the end to place thru the grill and pull the safety lever towards you... cheers jod
