I just gave the exciter a try ... It's like a poor man's BBE. I threw it and the limiter on this track i've been dinking around with: With: Without: It's kinda subtle ... and while it increases the bass ... it feels like it also reduces the dynamic range or something. I don't know if I'd put it on every mix, but it might be useful for mastering. Then again I have a hardware BBE Sonic Maximizer and I have mixed feelings about that as well.

Hmm. I skipped out on using his plugs during my last mix, because none of the comps really did what I wanted. I may have to re-visit, though, especially if the DeEsser is that good - the Waves one I used was OK, but nothing thrilling, and was very touchy.

De-Essers are pretty utilitarian. They remove some unwanted hiss from a signal. The good ones do this without coloring the remaining sound. I suppose you can use them for other things, but I am not sure what. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.

I have been looking for a good de-esser. I will have to check this out on your recommendation. I have avoided these plugins due to choisitis, but I may have to relapse to evaluate these.
